Sitemaker by Clark IP
An Overview of Sitemaker
Editing suite, tools, components and data management
The CIP Sitemaker concept is based on tested principles of content management, navigation and visual design that help you achieve the results you need. These are joined in the set of tools and components we call the Sitemaker Editing Suite. From the Editing Suite you will define

  1. Content: What information is stored and who may see it
  2. Navigation: How users move around your site
  3. Appearance: What colors, layout, fonts and images they see.

Navigation

Menus
Navigational menus are built into Sitemaker in three general ways. You may use any combination, or you may build all your links manually.
  • table of contents - generally located in a column at left and/or right depending on the selected template
  • top menu bar - generallly just below the theme (mast) graphic above the page content
  • footer text - generally centered below the main body of the page.
These links will take you to the major areas of the site. The editor can provide unique links to internal and external pages or sites and can implement automated "jump links" to move the focus within an individual page.
The appearance of links is controlled by cascading style sheets, so you can make them look and behave as you wish.
Registration
Access to some features can be set to require registration (aka "membership"). The user can be instructed to fill out a minimal one-time registration form. Once the user has registered, access to the protected features is available. Registration requires cookies to be enabled in the user's browser.
Browser Issues
Sitemaker CIP is tested frequently with Netscape, MSIE and Mozilla Firefox for Windows and Firefox and Safari for Macintosh. If you use a non-supported browser, some processes on the site may not work properly.
